　　本題要求判斷說話人的身份。 如果只聽到只言片語，如policy就會(huì)受到D: 政治家 的干擾， 或fire而受到B: 消防隊(duì)員 的干擾；只有聽清全文，聯(lián)系上下文，才可判斷出這里policy意思是“保險(xiǎn)單，保險(xiǎn)契約”，而非“政策”，也才能推測(cè)出其職業(yè)應(yīng)為A: 保險(xiǎn)代理人。

　　作為情態(tài)助動(dòng)詞，need一般只用于否定句和疑問句。 “needn’t + 不定式完成體”表示過去本來不必做某事卻做了。因此原句可理解為“其實(shí)他不必告訴我， 但他告訴了。” 所以C為最佳選擇。

　　另外：“needn’t do / don’t need to”表示沒有必要而不去做。

　　9. “在閱讀過程中， 我們必須從字里行間領(lǐng)會(huì)隱含之意。”

　　in the course of …: 在…過程中

　　理解詞組read between the lines: （從字里行間﹑言詞﹑行動(dòng)中) 領(lǐng)會(huì)言外之意﹑體會(huì)隱含之意 就不難理解本題的真實(shí)含義，從而選出正確答案B。
