端午節(jié)吃粽子是為了紀(jì)念古代詩(shī)人屈原的。屈原一生寫(xiě)了許許多多的著名詩(shī)篇，提出過(guò)許許多多愛(ài)國(guó)政治主張，但是楚王不采納。最后，楚國(guó)國(guó)土被侵占，屈原滿懷憂憤，跳江自盡。人們?yōu)榱思o(jì)念他，祭奠他，在每年的這一天，就把粽子和許多的好吃的投到江里，目的是不讓魚(yú)兒吃屈原的尸體。
端午節(jié)那天，我問(wèn)媽媽粽子是怎么做的，媽媽說(shuō)：“粽子是用翠綠、鮮嫩的蘆葦葉包著雪白的糯米和蜜棗包的，如果沒(méi)有蜜棗的話，可以用豆子等代替。熟它，需要煮一個(gè)晚上。煮熟以后，剝開(kāi)變成墨綠色的蘆葦葉，就可以看見(jiàn)潔白的糯米和棗團(tuán)在里面，既好吃又甜，并且吃不膩。它既是開(kāi)胃的美食，又是營(yíng)養(yǎng)豐富的滋補(bǔ)品。

為什么五月初五這一天會(huì)成為“端午”呢?民間流傳著很多種說(shuō)法。其中最流行的說(shuō)法，就是為了紀(jì)念屈原。
屈原是戰(zhàn)國(guó)時(shí)楚國(guó)的大官，楚國(guó)不采納他的治國(guó)主張，反而將他免職流放，他在流放途中看到楚國(guó)衰亡，人民遭受苦難，自己又無(wú)力挽救老百姓，他心中悲憤難忍，便于公元前278年的五月初五，投入汩羅江自盡。楚國(guó)百姓知道后，竟相劃船前去相救，但已來(lái)不及了，百姓們擔(dān)心江中的魚(yú)，鱉，咬食屈原的遺體，便用竹殼裹米投入江中喂魚(yú)。從此，劃龍舟，包粽子就是我們中國(guó)的風(fēng)俗了。
我很喜歡端午節(jié)，我每年都盼望端午節(jié)的到來(lái)。
