On the east bank of the Heavenly River lived a girl weaver, daughter of the Emperor of Heaven. She worked hard year in and year out, weaving colourful clothes for gods and goddesses.

Since she lived all alone, the emperor took pity on her and allowed her to marry the cowherd on the west bank of the river. However, she stopped weaving after she was married. Greatly outraged, the emperor forced the girl back across the river and allowed her to join her husband only once a year.

On the seventh day of each autumn, magpies would suddenly become bald-headed for no obvious reasons at all. According to legend, that day the cowherd and the weaver met on the east bank of the river, and magpies were made to form a bridge for them. And for this reason the down on their heads was worn out.

旁邊：Long long ago, maybe in Jin Dynasty,i can't remember it clearly. A female fairy who named Zhi Nu , was the youngest of seven daughters of the Queen of Heaven. With her sisters, she worked hard to weave beautiful clouds in the sky, while Niu Lang was a poor lonely orphan cowherd.one day,the magical cow kindly told to him. Cow:niulang ,do you want a way to find a beautiful and nice woman as your life companion?

Niulang :of course, i always dream of a woman.but,but you know, i'm a poor cowherd,which woman would like to marry me?i live with my brother, i have no sports car, and i have no account in bank.(圖片)

Cow:hehe ,but you have a kind heart.that's all that matters. Hey ,Don't worry.you just need to go to the river side tomorrow evening,and you will find her.

Under the direction of the cow, Niu Lang go to the river side,and find seven fairies slipped out of their heavenly palace to bathe. Niulang :What should i do ?

He speak to himself,and then he took one of the beautiful silk dresses.When the fairies left the water, the youngest couldn''t find her clothes.

Zhinv: where is my clothes?who take it away?(面向觀眾)you?or you ? Then Niu Lang came out with the dress and asked the youngest fairy: Niulang : it's me.hey, it's me.(揮手) Zhinv:why do you hide my clothes?

Niulang :you are so beautiful,you look like an angel,a fairy. Zhinv :i am.

Niulang:.i have a crush on you.i fall in love at the first sight.i can't think my life with you before,but now i can't think about my life without you.could you marry me? Zhinv:i never know what love is, but i guess ,this feeling ,is love .

Several years passed on Earth, which were only a few days in heaven. Niu Lang and Zhi Nu lived happily together and had two children.They live a happy life from now on.no no no ,it's not the end of the story.Happiness never last long .the Queen of Heaven discovered Zhi Nu''s absence and get angry.

Queen of heaven:you know it clearly,you should not love an ordinary person.you break the law of God in heaven,you should pay the price. Zhinv:mother, please,i really love him,don't take me away! Niulang :i will take care of her,we are truly loved.

Two kids:grandma, please don't take my mom away.(哭)

But the Queen still take zhinv to the heaven and pulled off her hairpin to draw a line between the two. The line became the Silver River in heaven, or the Milky Way.

Finally, the Queen showed a little mercy, allowing the couple to meet once every year on the Silver River. Niulang; Zhinv : Two kids:

The Chinese people believe that the star Vega(織女星), east of the Milky Way, is Zhi Nu and, at the constellation of Aquila(天鷹座), on the western side of the Milky Way, Niu Lang waits for his wife. A young cowherd named Niulang the cowherd happens across seven fairy sisters bathing in a lake.Encouraged by his mischievous companion the ox,he steals their clothes and waits to see what will happen.The fairy sisters elect the youngest and most beautiful sister Zhinü the weaver girl to retrieve their clothing.She does so,but since Niulang has seen her naked,she must agree to his request for marriage.She became a wonderful wife,and Niulang a good husband .But the Goddess of Heaven finds out that a mortal has married one of the fairy girls and is furious.Taking out her hairpin,the Goddess scratches a river in the sky to separate the two lovers forever thus forming the Milky Way .Zhinü must sit forever on one side of the river while Niulang watches her from afar and takes care of their two children .But once a year all the magpies in the world take pity on them and fly up into heaven to form a bridge over the star Deneb in the Cygnus constellation so the lovers may be together for a single night,the seventh night of the seventh moon.
